Wal-mart’s latest store opening in Las Vegas shows significant energy savings over past stores and does influence other “Big Box” retailers.

Wal-mart took the opportunity to outline a host of initiatives which include recycling heat from refrigerators and combining low-power LED lights in freezer cases with sensors that turn off those lights when no customers are around.
